The Hilton Park Lane

My Daddy has been having his hair cut at The Hilton on Park Lane for as long as I can remember, it's probably been as long as he can remember also.
So when he told me he was coming up from the country to have a chop me and mummy jumped at the opportunity....'Lunch Please ;-).

We had the perfect excuse of course, Mummy was coming up anyway, as we were planning a trip to the Shard later that day and he could join in... After a very yummy lunch hee hee. The answer was 'YES, great idea darling'... Few!

On arrival I was grinning like a cheshire cat with excitement. Not only to eat but to issue big hugs and kisses to my rents. (I'm a bit of a home body and LOVE being with my family).

Once daddy was done and mummy had arrived, we settle down to eat in their Podium restaurant and bar. Their menu was a tradition English with a contemporary twist.

Me and mummy are sometimes creatures of habit and both went for the Beetroot and Goats cheese salad to start with. The walnuts were sugar coated and crispy which was a welcome contrast to the soft creamy goats cheese and tender white and red beetroot. The pea shoots complemented and completed the dish through colour and crunch. As a whole it was perfection. Daddy had the Scallops for a started which me and Mummy had for a main.

The main events arrived. Duck Spring rolls for daddy, they were crispy on the outside with a juicy duck and spring onion filling. The plum sauce was rich and sumptuous (an extra boat was on the side). Daddy found them a bit much so I help him polish them off....

Our Scallops were divine, there was not enough. I could have had 10 more. A little al dente but that's how I like them. The plate was bursting with colour which invited/urged you to tuck in. So I did immediately.

I finished with an espresso and nutty biscotti. My perfect ending.
