Determined to soak up some culture Charlie took us on an adventure up the mountains inland to the three villages called Las Alpujarras (The White Villages to you and me).
Words cannot describe to you the drive there I simply wouldn't do it justice.... Ok I will try, just picture vaulting mountains either side tipped with snow (in mid-summer in southern Spain!), as you wind up the narrow roads, lakes and rivers beneath you with rich red jagged stone complementing the patchworks of vividly green trees etc. STUNNING

We arrived at the top village, Capileira. Set back in time this place was wonderfully rustic. Each store, restaurant and hotel had painted their own signs. The outsides of the bright white buildings were offset by the blooming hanging baskets.Of course I checked out the little artisan shops, crammed full with all kinds of bits and bobs that I wanted to snatch up. I'm a particular fan of this little horse!!!!
We headed to the top of the village and had a spot of lunch in the most stunning garden overlooking the valley. And boy did we eat, ordering almost everything on the menu. I will let the photos speak for themselves but we were full and our tummies were happy... The Gazpacho (chris went mad for it, we found a contender for his maxi bon ice-cream fetish) and Morcilla sausage were the highlights.
En rout back to the car we popped into a leather shop crammed full of boho chic goodies from coats to bags. Of course being me I was like a kid in a candy store and fell head of heels in love with this rabbit fur emerald green gilet Charlie spotted at the back. Beaming from ear to ear I eagerly collected some euros together befor prancing about in my new purchase for a while.
I can't wait to rock it back home, here's a little pick of me showing off my new purchase. You may have already seen it if you follow me on instagram.

Granada was our next destination. Famous for the Alhambra and its renaissance church's. We headed up the cobbled streets to the Mirador de San Nicolás to taken in the breath taking view of the castle and city below.
After our steep climb our tummy's were rumbling heading back down into the center and darting in and out of shops along the way we arrived at a Moroccan influenced restaurant tucked away in a side street. Tagines were ordered along with Moroccan tea, houmous and dipping bread. It ticked all the boxes and so did the authentic interior.
The next few days were spent relaxing, eating, drinking and one final visit to the seaside, I had to swim in the sea one more time!
