4:45am and I've arrived at Gatwick north terminal, but despite the hour I've got bags of excited energy. The wait is over and we are off just a few short hours away from sun, sea, sand, poolside fun, food and relaxation.... Heaven.
As we pull up to the villa in salobreña, I bounce through the door and head straight to the balcony... I'm telling you this view is not one to be forgotten. Snowy peaks leading down to the sea with long stretches of beach.. Definitely one for the memory bank.
Bikini time and I had one mission: bronzing - I know, so retro of me but who doesn't love to be all golden right? We were treated to a delicious meal by the previous week's guests which was so sweet of them.
Coupled with a refreshing g&t in hand I was one very happy bunny (Bella and I had a holiday toast). If you follow me on Instagram you may have already seen a few of these pics!!!

The day fizzled away and as the sun went down we did what any other 20 somethings get up to....Partied hee! We got stuck into some games and yummy did a good Harlem shake.
The bar had been set very high and I hoped this would set a trend for the rest of the week...Waking up to blistering heat and a clear blue sky I moved all of 5 meters from my bed to the sun loungers and collapsed into a rather smug heap. Haha no more office for me.
Skipping forward a little we spiced it up on the third day. Venturing down to the sea,we visited a more intimate beach near the Marina del Este, which was like a cove flanked either side by rocks. I was itching to jump off them into the clearest blue sea I had seen in a while. We lay down our towels before making a very quick dash straight into the water. So cool and refreshing I floated about before accepting the challenge to swim out to the green buoys bobbing away.. Needless to say I won hands down hollllaaa hee.
Having worked up an appetite we headed to the beach side restaurant and I tucked into a fantastic piece of sole. However, my greedy side took over and I had to try some of the others' food. Deep fried calamari, monk fish (aka rape!), sardines etc. I was spent. Food baby in toe, we made our way back to the towels and frazzled in the sun for a while longer.
Before heading home and a much needed food shop, we had a wander around the port. Filled with lovely boats and small bars I was desperate to return another day for a drink.

Almuñecar was where we headed that evening, bar-hopping and dancing away the night... I still can't forget this caramel vodka I had, a new taste and a new love - it was like crème brûlée in shot form and it went down a treat, and for someone who doesn't like sweet drinks this came as a very pleasant surprise. On return (at circa 4am!) I had one thing on my mind: bed. However the boys did not have the same idea in mind, embracing their inner gangster they made a beeline for the Jacuzzi lighting up some stogies and carrying on until sunrise.
