The Marylebone Fair

This not so Sunny Sunday, the Marylebone Summer Fair exploded all over the main high street and side streets. Held in aid of the charity Kids Company and bringing awareness to Child abuse.

Marylebone was filled with music from Steel drums to acoustic guitar bands which gave the area a vibrant and fun vibe.Delicious smells were wafting all around, as stall owners cooked up their specialties.

We were offering up a prize of Cheek Frills Days of the Week set and a Dream set if could could guess how many pants were in the jar (playing for a small donation), the winner to be contacted later all proceeds went to charity. We also were selling our super cute new range of Neon and hearts. A curtain celebrity popped up and went gaga for the range, I not going to say who but she is super beautiful and has been in many a Hollywood film. Our Austique stall was bang opposite Slabs London, a new and AMAZING burger restaurant. They were giving out free mini burgers, I was a little cheeky kept on creeping up for more.

My friends Rosie and Char came to visit and I hold them they had to go get a burger, so they popped over to the joint and we sat down for a good old natter.

After filling my little tummy until it was almost fit to burst, I decided to indulge myself a little more with some retail/fair therapy.  Matches got it so right and had placed this Pimm's bicycle cart in their entrance. It was so quintessentially British and the perfect prop for this fair, vintage cool and very appropriate.

What is Pimm's without fruit!!! These tasty treats were on the stall opposite.

Edy and Bridge had a pop up stall selling their vintage custom jackets, dresses and tops etc. They are cute and girly I loved their cosy jumpers and army jackets.

Bright pink and yellow balloons were being handed out on every corner and every child in sight was clasping one tight. It was such a great day a real fun and friendly party vibe and a great amount was raised.

Movie nights

This past weekend me and my friend soppy had a girly night in, complete with bags of treats, movies, G&T's (obvi) and a big duvet to cover us while slumped on my sofa.

Our movie of choice was Les Misérables 'Jean Valjean, known as Prisoner 24601, is released from prison and breaks parole to create a new life for himself while evading the grip of the persistent Inspector Javert. Set in post-revolutionary France, the story reaches resolution against the background of the June Rebellion.' along with being a love story between the two characters Cosette (Amanda Seyfried)and Marius (Eddie Redmayne, aka my massive crush).

So while we were sipping on out tonics watching this love story unfold it made us beg the question, where has the love gone? What has happened to the days of seeing someone across the room and falling head over heels in love. Where are our love letters and grand gestures.

This was only cemented more firmly in my brain when me and my sister went to see the film of the year The Great Gatsby on Sunday night. Combined with Sunday night blues this had me blubbing all over the shop.'“The Great Gatsby” follows Fitzgerald-like, would-be writer Nick Carraway as he leaves the Midwest and comes to New York City in the spring of 1922, an era of loosening morals, glittering jazz and bootleg kings. Chasing his own American Dream, Nick lands next door to a mysterious, party-giving millionaire, Jay Gatsby (played but Leonardo Dicaprio, aka my future husband..I wish), and across the bay from his cousin, Daisy, and her philandering, blue-blooded husband, Tom Buchanan. It is thus that Nick is drawn into the captivating world of the super-rich, their illusions, loves and deceits. As Nick bears witness, within and without the world he inhabits, he pens a tale of impossible love, incorruptible dreams and high-octane tragedy, and holds a mirror to our own modern times and struggles.'

But in a nut shell Gatsby has been so in love with Daisy and hopes so much for her to be his wife, he holds party's every weekend in the hope she will attend on, fills rooms with flowers as he knows it is what she would like, his whole life is about getting her back, it makes me melt.

The Great Gatsby was everything I look for in a film, I love Baz Luhrmanns style. Romeo and Juliet and Moulin Rougue are some of my all time favs. I just wanted to throw on a 1920's flapper dress and dance the Charleston.

Ok so i'm not an idiot, I know these are films and are completely elaborated to entertain and feed the imaginations of girls like me, and thinking about it, if I was presented with love letters etc I would think this guy is a little bit of a freak/stalker. But i'm a girl and i'm allowed to be fickle, I would settle however with being whisked away to Paris, Rome, Venice or Florence hee, oh and maybe a few epic parties.

@LaPerla

So recently I was super lucky and attended/helped out with the La Perla press day.

I had attended and helped with hats before so this time around I jumped at the opportunity to be involved.

For me La Perla represent the super luxury, reserved for the Blair Waldorf's of the world, my massive girl crush, I felt super lucky to be involved.

The location was in an Italian gallery on Newman street off Oxford street (very appropriate as la Perla is actually an Italian brand with a french name). The crisp white rooms with fantastic artwork offered a strong setting.

Spread over two floors the upstairs was reserved for the main and cruise collection and downstairs for their diffusion line, which was youthful, vibrate with a warm colour palette. The pieces were complement by the beautiful bouquets of flowers in between the models.

For the main collection the inspiration was drafted from traditional Spanish bullfighting. The collection exuded strength, passion, sophistication and elegance through its expensive silks, sheer fabrics, lace, clever cuts and carefully selected colours.

This black dress was my so sophisticated and elegant. I want.....

Complete with elegant eats, my fav Macaroons and press packs. I was in heaven and had the best time along with wanting to take every piece home. The guest book was full to burst and the day was a  massive success.

A  big toast to such a success...
