Royal Ascot

Royal Ascot is one of my favorite weeks of the year. I love the excitement of dressing up and getting that hat back on my head (Obvi I made my own), nattering with my friends about what they are going to wear and who to place bets on. Drinking copious amounts of champagne and tucking into yummy picnic or dining in one of the many restaurants.

True to form I arrived at car park 1 to join two of my great friends and immediately I had a glass of bubbles thrust into my hand, I was going to complain ;-)!!
We were soon tucking into poached salmon, sausages, coronation chicken, potato salad and a variety of salads. The chef had outdone herself and we were all exceedingly grateful.

The races were imminent and once the plates had been scraped clean we all dashed off to place our bets.

And they were off, the sound of galloping hooves against the track, the fast commentary from the man behind the mike, the silent but electric tension from the stands and finally a mix of emotions as ohhhhhhhs and yeeeeeahhhs are exclaimed as people either win or loose. It's heart pounding stuff, and why I love Ascot.

Retiring to the Bollinger Tent in the Royal enclosure to rest our nerves but not out wallets and meeting up with a few more people. We guzzled back a few more drops while nattering away discussing those luck few who had retrieved some winnings.

This cycle continued until we were all a but merry and the bets became sillier, therefore no doubt the bookies became richer ha!!!

The day went as quick as a flash, or should I say as fast as the horses racing. I had a fantastic time and can't believe I have a whole year until next time.

The Marylebone Fair

This not so Sunny Sunday, the Marylebone Summer Fair exploded all over the main high street and side streets. Held in aid of the charity Kids Company and bringing awareness to Child abuse.

Marylebone was filled with music from Steel drums to acoustic guitar bands which gave the area a vibrant and fun vibe.Delicious smells were wafting all around, as stall owners cooked up their specialties.

We were offering up a prize of Cheek Frills Days of the Week set and a Dream set if could could guess how many pants were in the jar (playing for a small donation), the winner to be contacted later all proceeds went to charity. We also were selling our super cute new range of Neon and hearts. A curtain celebrity popped up and went gaga for the range, I not going to say who but she is super beautiful and has been in many a Hollywood film. Our Austique stall was bang opposite Slabs London, a new and AMAZING burger restaurant. They were giving out free mini burgers, I was a little cheeky kept on creeping up for more.

My friends Rosie and Char came to visit and I hold them they had to go get a burger, so they popped over to the joint and we sat down for a good old natter.

After filling my little tummy until it was almost fit to burst, I decided to indulge myself a little more with some retail/fair therapy.  Matches got it so right and had placed this Pimm's bicycle cart in their entrance. It was so quintessentially British and the perfect prop for this fair, vintage cool and very appropriate.

What is Pimm's without fruit!!! These tasty treats were on the stall opposite.

Edy and Bridge had a pop up stall selling their vintage custom jackets, dresses and tops etc. They are cute and girly I loved their cosy jumpers and army jackets.

Bright pink and yellow balloons were being handed out on every corner and every child in sight was clasping one tight. It was such a great day a real fun and friendly party vibe and a great amount was raised.
